- American Home Shield (AHS)
- HMS Home Warranty
- HomeTrust Warranty
All of these companies have been in the home warranty business for twenty years or more. HMS is a national firm with a regional office in the Mid-Atlantic area. American Home Shield has been in the business for 35 years, and they operate nationwide as well, with four regional service centers handling 15,000 calls a day. HomeTrust Warranty works with 15,000 home builders in 49 states and has 1.25 million homes under service contract.

Long and Foster has selected three large companies active in the home warranty market. Each company provides similar coverage to the homeowner, and each has service call fees in the $45-$50 range. The cost for a one year home warranty is in the $400-$600 range, depending on home size and options.
