New Hampshire Home Insurance
As any resident knows, New Hampshire can be home to some pretty volatile weather. From torrential Spring rains to heavy winter snowfall, homeowners in the state should be particularly careful about making sure their homeowners insurance policy covers damage from extreme weather conditions.

When you are shopping for a policy for your home you will first want to familiarize yourself with the different types of policies that are available to you. For example, the most basic of the homeowners insurance policies is HO-1, which only covers 11 different types of perils such as fire, theft, and vandalism. It's only available in a few states, and is the least common policy. HO-2 protects the same basics as HO-1 but adds an additional five disasters to your coverage, such as damage resulting from ice and snow, which could be vital during those long, cold Northeastern winters. HO-3 – also known as standard homeowner's insurance - is the most common type of homeowner's policy. HO-3 will cover your home from damage resulting from most natural disasters, with the exception of floods and earthquakes.
Like most other states, New Hampshire homeowners insurance does not cover flooding caused by heavy rains. However, as a homeowner in New Hampshire you are able to obtain flood insurance by purchasing it separately through the National Flood Insurance Plan. Once you receive your rate quote, you might want to discuss flood insurance options with your insurance agent. In May 2006, New Hampshire Governor John Lynch declared a State of Emergency due to flooding. You don't want to be caught in a flood being underinsured – request your free rate quote today.
