Boston residents who have received financial assistance to buy their home through the Boston Home Certificate Initiative are required to take a six-hour class called “Homeowner 201”. The class includes seminars on crime, fire, and unnecessary home repairs. Graduating from the class makes homeowners eligible for discounts on their homeowners insurance.
